The next step of England's roadmap out of lockdown is scheduled for 17th May and with it the long-awaited reopening of England and Scotland's cinemas. In a mark that there is industry-wide confidence that cinema-goers may return, a raft of studios have also announced dates for major film releases.

Here are the latest dates and where available, the trailers too!

As I write, it is a year to the day since the start of the first U.K. lockdown. It feels an under-statement to say that a lot has changed. 

Observing today's minute silence in memory of the victims was humbling, but as the UK passes the 50% vaccination point for all adults, there are also signs for optimism, for a better future.

In 2010 Avatar blitzed the previous record to become the highest grossing film of all time. In 2019, Avengers: Endgame inched past and has held the title for the past two years.

On Saturday, Avatar's box office total reached $2.802M. Enough for it to reclaim its crown as the highest grossing film of all time.

2020 was an interesting year for author, film-maker, screen-writer and artist Adam McDaniel. The fires that ravaged Southern California threatened to engulf his home, he left his job of nearly twelve years with Warner Brothers and his wedding cruise was twice cancelled due to the COVID epidemic.

That would have got a lot of us down but, not McDaniel. He has set out to finish a journey that began, unbeknown to him, a few decades before...

Although the UK is entering another lock-down, there is a chink of light at the end of the (long) tunnel in the form of vaccine roll-outs. So, with our optimistic hat on, here are trailers for the films we are looking forward to seeing later in 2021.

Even with the welcome news of vaccine roll-outs, many of us are living under tiered restrictions, with many cinemas across the country remaining closed.

Despite being a cult favourite, David Lynch's 1984 adaptation disappointed many fans and movie goers.

It would take a brave director to step up to the plate and give the book a 21st Century movie. Luckily, Denis Villeneuve is some director.
