At 11:00 local time, director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy joined the main stage for the 'Episode IX panel'.

So, here we are two weeks out from the most hotly anticipated film of 2019, Marvel's "Avengers : Endgame"!

Yesterday Marvel released the final trailer for the film, so, we thought we should gather them all together.

At a time when movies are dominated by the back-story of super-heroes, it is exciting to hear of a film that focuses on an equally famous villain.

The stunning teaser trailer (released yesterday) for D.C.'s "Joker" promises a film of depth that shows us how a normal man (played by Joaquin Phoenix) can become one of the world's greatest villains.

It’s the weekend of the 91st Academy Awards and the film industry has Oscar fever. In the run-up, The Washington Post ran a fantastic article looking at the movie posters of some of the award hopefuls.

On June 6th 1915, “The New York Times” published an article by Henry MacMahon entitled “THE ART OF THE MOVIES”.

Found, one hundred and four years later, it's title was bound to pique the interest of the Art of the Movies team. What we read, and what it lead us to, was a fascinating episode in movie-making history...

Over the weekend the Art of the Movies team went to see the amazing “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”. It’s astonishing. Every scene has been lovingly crafted to a living comic.

How did we miss this?

In 1982, Jim Henson and Frank Oz released the amazing fantasy adventure "The Dark Crystal".

In May 2017, Netflix and The Jim Henson Company announced that they were working on a Dark Crystal prequel series, "The Dark Crystal : Age of Resistance"!

We are very sorry to hear of the passing, at the age of ninety, of actor Douglas Rain.

Born in 1928, Rain studied in both Canada and England. His film and stage career spanned more than forty years. It is however, as the voice of the HAL 9000 in Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" that he will be most widely known.
