A few months ago, long before any of the current madness descended, we enjoyed an amazing evening at our local independent cinema. Not to watch a movie, but to virtually visit the theatre and to watch the amazing James Corden in ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’. 

With the social distancing lock-down in place, you can’t visit the National Theatre, nor can you watch one of their productions in the cinema, but, thanks to National Theatre At Home, starting this week, you can watch ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ from the comfort of your own arm-chair...

These are worrying times. Above all else, we hope that you, your loved ones, friends and families are heeding the latest government advice and staying safe.

While we are all maintaining our social distance and spending more time at home, I imagine that, like us, you are getting through more movies and box-sets than usual.

For those in the UK, don’t forget the BBC iPlayer where you can find two fantastic series for the movie lover…

Since the turn of the century, few directors have established as distinctive a cinematic vision as Wes Anderson.

We were excited to see the release of a new trailer for his upcoming movie "The French Dispatch", or, more correctly "The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun".

We were quite surprised by their number one pick.

Over the Christmas break we found a book we had not seen before. Written by Gregory J Edwards and Robin Cross, it’s title was more than a little intriguing to the movie poster lover…

Published in 1984, “Worst Movie Posters of All Time – A Treasury of Trash” promised to ‘sterilize me with fear’ and that within its pages ‘… shame exploiters compete with each other for the supreme accolade of WORST MOVIE POSTER OF ALL TIME…”

Given the time difference here in the UK, only the most ardent American Football fan is likely to have stayed up to see the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers to Superbowl 54.
