These are worrying times. Above all else, we hope that you, your loved ones, friends and families are heeding the latest government advice and staying safe.
As those who have visited us know, we run Art of the Movies from a fairly secluded base. We are currently all well and able to fulfil all orders we receive. If that changes, we will let you know.
While we are all maintaining our social distance and spending more time at home, I imagine that, like us, you are getting through more movies and box-sets than usual.
For those in the UK, don’t forget the BBC iPlayer where you can find two fantastic series for the movie lover…
Inside Cinema
With thirty-four 5 minute episodes taking a humorous look at the movies, the series covers everything from ‘Bumbling Detectives’ and ‘Movie Buddies’ to ‘Dancing Teens’ and ‘Fast and Furious Families’.
A really good watch when you have a few minutes to yourself, or, spend a couple of hours ploughing through them all!
Mark Kermode’s Secrets of the Cinema
Film critic Mark Kemode of The Observer and BBC Radio 5 Live has forgotten more about the movies that most of us will ever know.
The first series of ‘Mark Kemode’s Secrets of Cinema’ debuted in 2018, providing a highly watchable and insightful dissection of the RomCom, Heist, Coming of Age, Science Fiction and Horror genres.
The second series has just kicked off, with the 19th March release of ‘Superheroes’. Two further episodes looking at ‘British History’ and ‘Spies’ follow.
Fantastic viewing!
It looks like we all may need to keep our social distance for some time. In the meantime, if you do want to kit out your own home cinema (whether that's a makeshift corner of a room or a fully kitted-out basement) or want to pick up an amazing present without visiting the shops, we have plenty of original movie posters and Light Boxes available. You know where we are.
Keep safe.
Adam and the Art of the Movies team.
