Since the turn of the century, few directors have established as distinctive a cinematic vision as Wes Anderson.
Starting with 2001's "The Royal Tenenbaums" (co-written with Owen Wilson), he has honed a unique film-making style and aesthetic that has encompassed stop-motion animation and live action, underpinned by astonishing ensemble casts (including an ever present regular, Bill Murray).
Amazingly, he is yet to win an Oscar, but 2014's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" came close, deservedly earning him 'Best Picture' and 'Best Director' nominations.
We were excited to see the release of a new trailer for his upcoming movie "The French Dispatch", or, more correctly "The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun".
Set in a fictional French town it brings to life the stories of the final issue of an American expat magazine.
The trailer promises a film full of Anderson's unique vision and wit and with as strong a cast as one would expect - including Bill Murray!
The movie poster is just as exciting - perhaps the best of the year so far. With amazing artwork by illustrator Javi Aznarez, it combines the publishing theme of the movie with insights in to the cast's characters, all wrapped up in a 1950's French vibe.
Superb!!
We managed to track down a handful of the movie posters. You can find them among the posters we have for Wes Anderson's films.
We are off to string some onions, put on a beret and ride a bicycle. Catch you next week.
