A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from 1983 for D.A. Pennebaker's glam rock musical documentary "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars", starring David Bowie in his 1972 - 1973 alter-ego.

Having introduced Ziggy at a 1972 gig at the Toby Jug pub in Kingston upon Thames, Bowie would tour non-stop for six months, launching a pop career like no other. Seventeen months later, on stage at the Hammersmith Odeon, Bowie would announce Ziggy's retirement, a gig captured forever in the form of Pennebaker's troubled film Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars.

Plagued by poor lighting and sound capture, the movie would spend years in production, eventually being premiered in the UK on 31st August 1979. It would be released in the US in the December of 1983 and this poster is from this original release.

This superb single-sided movie poster has never been folded and (as our photos show) display incredibly well. A real collector's piece.
