A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from the 1983 release of Alfred Hitchcock's classic psychological thriller of 1958, "Vertigo", starring James Stewart and Kim Novak.

Based on the 1954 novel "D'entres les morts" ("From Among The Dead") by Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac, the movie sees Stewart as former police detective 'Scottie' Ferguson, plagued by his fear of heights, hired to investigate a wife who is behaving strangely.

Now considered a classic, in 1989 the film was one of the first twenty-five movies added to the U.S. Library of Congress for having 'cultural, historical or aesthetic' significance.

Following Hitchcock's death, Universal Pictures acquired the rights to his films. Vertigo and Rear Window were the first to be cleaned, restored and re-released. This poster, showing the iconic Hitchcock profile, was produced for this release. Vertigo had last been shown in U.S. movie theatres in 1968!

It was issued folded and remained so, with very little damage from the machine folding process. As our photos show, it is a fantastic poster for the Hitchcock fan!
