"Greetings Starfighter..."
A guaranteed original U.S. '30x40' movie poster from 1984 for Nick Castle's sci-fi adventure, "The Last Starfighter", one of the first films to use computer generated imagery (CGI) to create amazing sci-fi ships and battles.
Alex Rogan (played by Lance Guest) is a trailer park teenager whose only escapism is a video arcade game "Starfighter". When he becomes the game's highest scorer, fantasy becomes reality as he fights in space against the Ko-Dan Empire.
For those of us who were starting to play 'shoot em up' space games at the time, the film struck a chord. It is a favourite of many of my fellow '40 something' men.
Note that this poster has never been folded and is a rarer '30x40' format. This U.S. poster format was generally printed on a thicker paper stock and used in higher traffic (sometimes external) settings. This particular poster has survived in incredible condition.
By the way, ever heard of a 'Cray super-computer? They had to use one to create the special effects in this film!
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
