A guaranteed original Argentinian movie poster from 1982 for Disney's sci-fi classic "TRON".
Starring Jeff Bridges ("Kevin Flynn"), as a former game designer for ENCOM. While attempting to hack in to the ENCOM mainframe, Flynn is digitised and beamed in to the computer, having to play a number of games and eventually destroy the ENCOM Master Control Program (MCP) in order to escape.
Perhaps underestimated at the time of its release, "TRON" was recognised fourteen years later with an Academy Award for Technical Achievement.
This is a really unusual movie poster - the first that we have found. It was produced for the Argentinian release of the film and the amazing artwork is not found on any of the English language movie posters.
It was originally issued folded, but at some point in its 40 plus years, was linen-backed. As our photos show, it is in lovely condition and will look superb framed and on display.
For those that didn't start computer programming in the late 1970s / early 1980s, TRON is a command used to provide information to help debug computer programs. A real technological hero! The release of the film coincided with the explosion of the home computer market. For many, now middle-aged, "TRON" provided the perfect sci-fi adventure version of the many hours sat coding (and debugging) in a bedroom. An iconic poster.
