Every now and then, while looking for new movie posters, we stumble across other posters that are just too good, we have to pick them up. We label them our 'non movie' collection.

Here is a great example. A guaranteed original Italian advertising poster from the 1950s for "Prep Crema Medicata", a medicated face cream, which appears still to be for sale, albeit the marketing is no where near as beautiful!

With stunning artwork of a mermaid by E. Ferrante, this campaign must have made a big splash - a copy in card form is held within the U.S. National Library of Medicine.

This poster has been beautifully linen-backed (see our FAQs). It has never been folded and as our hi-res photos show, displays absolutely beautifully.

We don't include many 'non movie' posters. When we do, they have to be really special, and this is.

Condition & Age

Vintage cinema posters were working promotional materials used by theatres and distributors. As such, signs of age and handling are normal and form part of their character.

Condition is carefully assessed for each poster and reflected in the description. Where relevant, notes may include details such as light handling wear, fold lines from original cinema distribution, or minor edge wear.

Any significant restoration or conservation work will always be clearly stated.

Original cinema posters were produced in a variety of standard formats depending on the country and era of release.
