In superb condition, one of the movie posters of the late 20th Century, a guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from 1982 for John Carpenter's sci-fi horror thriller "The Thing", starring Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley, T.K. Carter, David Clennon, Keith David, Richard Dysart, Charles Hallahan, Peter Maloney, Richard Masur, Donald Moffat, Joel Polis and Thomas G. Waites.

Based on a 1938 short story Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell Jr, this horror classic is actually a remake of a 1951 movie The Thing From Another World. 

When a group of Antarctic scientists encounter a parasitic shape-shifting life-form, how do they know who is real, who can they possibly trust?

Given the high-esteem the film is now held in, it is hard to believe that it only took $20M at the box office, against a production budget of $15M! As teenagers discovered it on video-rental, the film's popularity grew and grew. It is now considered a classic of the genre.

The movie poster is a classic too. In his 2010 book, the artist, Drew Struzan, recalls that he received a call from John Carpenter one afternoon, asking for a poster by the next day. Drew hadn't even seen the film. The delivery driver arrived next morning to take the wet canvas away. Amazing.
