A guaranteed original Italian 'Two-Fogli' movie poster from 1967 for Franco Zeffirelli's romantic comedy "The Taming of the Shrew" (released in Italy as "La Bisbetica Domata"), based upon the sixteenth century play by William Shakespeare.
In the late 1960's, who could you possibly think of to play a tempestuous strong-willed woman and a lusty nobleman? By 1967, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were three years in to the first of their two marriages. They would appear together in eleven films, this being the fifth.
This amazing poster has artwork by Italian artist Ercole Brini (1907 - 1989). He had also painted Taylor and Burton for 1966's Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf and has captured them brilliantly in this colourful image!
This poster was originally issued folded and has remained so, in (as our photos show) remarkably good condition. Framing posters of this size is not cheap (and linen-backing prior to framing might also be advisable), but they make an incredible centre point for any room once on the wall. This is a wonderful poster!
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
