A pair of guaranteed original Japanese chirashi 'B5' movie posters from 2013 for Isao Takahata's animated historical fantasy "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya", based on a 10th Century Japanese story The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.
Director Takahata read the ancient tale as a child and had begun development of an adaptation as early as 1960. Over fifty years later, it would be the last film he would direct before passing. He and Studio Ghbli co-founder Hayao Mizayaki would call it '... a Japanese Heidi'.
Released in November 2013, this incredible animated movie is the most expensive Japanese film ever made (the production budget was $49.3M). Critically acclaimed, it would be nominated for the Best Animated Feature Oscar, losing out to Big Hero 6, much to our surprise!
These beautiful little posters have never been folded and as our high-resolution photos show are in fantastic condition. We will supply two chirashis so that the owner can display both sides simultaneously.
If you would like us to frame these for you, please add two grey '10x8' frames to your shopping cart.
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: These posters are priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
