Who have thought that the little character (originally called 'jump man') leaping over barrels thrown by a large ape in Donkey Kong would have such longevity! The little Italian plumber (originally a carpenter) was named Mario after Nintendo's U.S. warehouse landlord, Mario Segale!

Starring Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is due for release in April 2023.
