A guaranteed original U.S. one sheet movie poster from 1962 for Terence Fisher's Hammer horror thriller "The Phantom of the Opera", based on Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel Le Fantôme de l'Opéra.

It is 1900 and the opening night of a new opera at the London Opera House. A nervous cast are preparing, but it is more than first-night butterflies. When the body of a stage-hand swings on to stage during the performance, it is clear there are sinister forces at work...

Herbert Lom stars as The Phantom in a typically budget conscious Hammer production. Lom later recalled that during filming at Bray Studios "For one of my scenes, the Hammer people wanted me to smash my head against a stone pillar, because they said they couldn't afford one made of rubber!"
