A guaranteed original U.S. one sheet movie poster from 1968 for Guy Green's fantasy horror "The Magus", starring Michael Caine, Anthony Quinn, Candice Bergen and Anna Karina.

Based on John Fowles 1965 novel of the same name, Nicholas Urfe (Caine) is a young teacher who has escaped from a tempestuous relationship to start a new life on the Greek island of Phraxos. Meeting the strange and shadowy figure of Maurice Conchis (Quinn), are the strange events that now occupy his mind really happening or has Conchis seized control of his consciousness?

The novel often appears in Top 100 British Novels lists, but the story did not translate well to the big screen. Apparently Peter Seller's was once asked if he had any regrets in life. His response "I would do everything exactly the same except I wouldn't see The Magus."!

So, this is perhaps a case where the poster is a lot better than the film! It is a fantastic piece of 1960's design, with the unmistakable face of Michael Caine taking centre stage.

As was common practice at the time, this poster was issued folded, but has since been linen-backed. As our photos show, it will look fantastic framed and on display in a stylish home. We love it!
