A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from 2003 for Edward Zwick's Japanese war drama "The Last Samurai", based on a story by John Logan (who also worked on Gladiator, The Aviator, Hugo and Skyfall).
Set in the 19th Century during Japan's Meiji Renovation, Tom Cruise stars as Captain Nathan Algren, a Civil War veteran haunted by his role in the massacre of Native Americans. Travelling to Japan to train Emperor Meiji's army, he is the last man standing in battle and having been captured by a Samurai leader, becomes at one with their culture.
When their way of life is threatened, will he join them and become a true Samurai?
Tom Cruise has only been nominated for the Best Actor Oscar twice. Amazingly, this performance was not one of them. In fact, while being nominated for four Academy Awards, astonishingly, the film won none. Quite incredible, even when watched today.
This fantastic poster has never been folded and is in super condition. Being double-sided, it is suitable for display in an Art of the Movies Light Box or traditional framing. Either way, it will look wonderful.
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
