An iconic piece of 1960's film art!
A guaranteed original U.S. one sheet movie poster from the 1964 release of Robert Rossen's pool-hall gambling drama "The Hustler", based on the 1959 novel by Walter Trevis.
When a young pool hustler takes on a legend and loses, will he fall apart, or with the help of a mentor, can he look deep within himself and find what it takes to win?
Starring Paul Newman as Fast Eddie Felson with Jackie Gleason as his nemesis Minnesota Fats and George C. Scott as his backer Bert Gordon, this incredible movie was nominated for eight Academy Awards and is regarded as a classic of the second half of the Twentieth Century.
Newman would reprise his role alongside Tom Cruise in 1986's The Color of Money.
The poster for the 1961 release seems to promote the movie as a pretty uninspiring love story. This poster (for the 1964 release) is the one that we look out for. It screams 1960s and actually makes reference to pool too. Super cool!
This example was originally issued folded (as was common practice at the time), but has since been linen-backed (a process that stabilises and conserves the poster). As our photos show, it now displays amazingly well and will look incredible on the wall of any budding hustler!
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
