A holy grail movie poster!

A guaranteed original U.S. first printing 'Style A' one sheet movie poster from 1977 for "Star Wars", now known as "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope".

Written and directed by George Lucas and nominated for the Best Picture Oscar, Star Wars introduced us to Mark Hamill (as "Luke Skywalker"), Harrison Ford (as "Han Solo"), Carrie Fisher (as "Princess Leia"), Peter Cushing (as "Grand Moff Tarkin"), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar, as Obi-Wan Kenobi) and a host of actors now very familiar faces to all movie fans.

There were four different printing of the Style A poster. This poster has the 77/21-0 reference, confirming that it is from the first printing. It also has the U.S. ratings box, demonstrating that it was produced for use in the States. There are reproductions of this poster in circulation, but, we guarantee that this one is authentic.

The incredible artwork is by movie poster legend Tom Jung. He would go on to produce artwork for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi posters.

Unusually for the time, this poster was never folded! It has been linen-backed and save for some faint marks in the far left lower border, shows very few signs of its close to 50 years!
