"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…"
A guaranteed original Japanese 'B2' poster from 1982 for "Star Wars", now known as "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope".
Written and directed by George Lucas and nominated for the Best Picture Oscar, Star Wars introduced us to Mark Hamill (as "Luke Skywalker"), Harrison Ford (as "Han Solo"), Carrie Fisher (as "Princess Leia"), Anthony Daniels (as "C-3PO"), Kenny Baker (as "R2-D2") and a host of actors now very familiar faces to all movie fans.
This superb movie poster has never been folded and is in wonderful condition!
For many years, this has been a mysterious poster. Whilst its authenticity is confirmed, and a few other examples have surfaced, its original use (as an English language poster in a Japanese format) was not entirely clear. There was speculation that it was used on U.S. military bases in the region. However, exhibitor material from the period has recently surfaced that explains that the poster was to be given away to those who purchased advance tickets for the 1982 Star Wars re-release.
It is a superb way to get the original Tom Jung artwork in a beautifully printed genuine smaller format.
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
