One of the rarest Star Wars posters we have ever tracked down!

A guaranteed original printer's proof U.S. 'Style C' one sheet movie poster from 1977 for "Star Wars", now known as "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope".

Written and directed by George Lucas and nominated for the Best Picture Oscar, Star Wars introduced us to Mark Hamill (as 'Luke Skywalker'), Harrison Ford (as 'Han Solo'), Carrie Fisher (as 'Princess Leia'), Peter Cushing (as 'Grand Moff Tarkin'), Alec Guinness (nominated in the "Best Supporting Actor" Oscar category, as 'Obi-Wan Kenobi') and a host of actors now very familiar faces to all movie fans.

For us, this is the Star Wars movie poster. The incredible artwork by British movie poster artist Tom Chantrell has become the defining image of the Star Wars universe.

The 'Style C' one sheet was mainly used outside of the United States and is normally seen with a blue Star Wars logo and no rating information. This is a very rare U.S. version, with the PG ratings box present for American showings. It is also a 'printer's proof', that is, a poster that has remained untrimmed, with the CMYK colour bars down the left hand side. 

It has never been folded and is in wonderful condition. I doubt there is a better one out there. It came to us direct from a former employee of the printer's Gore Graphics. We absolutely guarantee it's originality.

Sotheby's currently have one of the small number in circulation for £9,449 + VAT (£11,338), so this poster, while a fair amount, is very competitively priced. It will look superb framed as the cornerstone of any Star Wars fan's collection. It is, quite simply, our favourite movie poster of all time.
