The first of these that we have found...

A guaranteed original U.S. one sheet promotional poster from 2008 for Steven Spielberg and George Lucas' 1981 adventure epic, "Raiders of the Lost Ark".

Nominated for eight Oscars, and winning five, Raiders of the Lost Ark stars Harrison Ford (as "Dr. Henry 'Indiana' Jones Jr.") and Karen Allen (as "Marion Ravenwood"). The original story was actually written by George Lucas and Philip Kaufman, inspired by the film series they had watched on Saturday mornings as kids.

Although many scenes were filmed Internationally, production was based at Elstree Studios, a few miles down the road from our HQ.

The incredible artwork on the poster is by legendary illustrator Richard Amsel and was used in promotion of the original 1981 release of the film. In 2008 Paramount used the original print plates to reproduce the poster in media packs celebrating the release of the fourth Indiana Jones movie. This poster is from that series.

We have had it side by side with an original from 1981 and the posters are identical. The only way they can be told apart is that this poster is 27x40 inches (rather than 27x41) and it has "IJ-MEDIA-052208' printed in the bottom left corner.

It represents a fantastic opportunity to pick up a studio printed version - and importantly an unfolded - example of Amsel's stunning artwork far more cheaply than an original from 1981, The print quality and artwork really are superb.
