A guaranteed original English one sheet movie poster for Hal Ashby's 1972 black comedy "Harold and Maude", starring Ruth Gordon, Bud Cort, Vivian Pickles, Cyril Cusack, Charles Tyner, Ellen Geer and Eric Christmas.

Harold and Maude is a dark comedy, blending morbid humour with a tender, life-affirming love story. We follow Harold, a death-obsessed young man, whose world is transformed when he meets Maude, a spirited 79 year old with a lust for life. Together, they embark on a journey that celebrates the beauty of fully living life.

The film originally struggled to find its audience, but midnight screenings in the U.S. led to its cult movie status. In 1997 it was selected for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

This superb movie poster was produced for the U.K. release of the movie in April 1972. The English one sheet is the only poster format that has this iconic artwork in colour! 

As was common place at the time, this movie poster was issued folded, but it has been linen-backed and as our photos show, it is in lovely condition. A true collectors' piece.
