A guaranteed original Australian Daybill movie poster from 1987 for Stanley Kubrick's Vietnam War psychological drama "Full Metal Jacket" starring Matthew Modine, R. Lee Emery, Vincent D'Onofrio and Adam Baldwin.

Based on the 1979 novel The Short-Timers by Gustav Hasford, this astonishing film follows two Privates through their training to the Tet Offensive of the Vietnam War. It gained an Oscar nomination in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.

This poster is Australian and the format is known as a 'Day bill'. It provides a smaller option to the larger one sheet and UK quad, still with Philip Castle's iconic artwork of the soldier's helmet. It was issued folded, but does not appear to have been used and displays very well. A super piece for the Kubrick fan.

By the way, perhaps unbelievably, the film was shot entirely in England. Scenes were filmed at the part demolished Beckton Gas Works, with over 100,000 plastic tropical plants!
