The third highest grossing film of 1983 (at over $200M), the movie follows a young night-club dancer (and by day industrial welder) as she aspires to become a professional ballerina.

The film also gave us the Academy Award Winning "Flashdance... What a feeling". Written by Giorgio Moroder and sung by Irene Cara, the song went platinum, spending 6 weeks at the top of the U.S. charts.
