A guaranteed original still from 1976 celebrating the filming of Alfred Hitchcock's 53rd (and final) film "Family Plot".
Based on Victor Canning's 1972 novel "The Rainbird Pattern", the movie stars Karen Black, Bruce Dern, Barbara Harris and William Devane, in a a tale that brings two couples together in the search for a missing heir.
A macabre comedy with Hitchcock's customary attention to detail, the movie would be the director's last. He passed, aged 80, in 1980.
Talking of macabre, this still of Hitchcock sums his humour up perfectly. As recorded on the back of the still, "... to celebrate the start of filming of "Family Plot", Alfred Hitchcock held a luncheon for friends and the press on the back lot of Universal. The setting was a graveyard and each guest was named on a tombstone..."!
This superb still would have been used by Universal Studio for publicity ahead of the film's release. A superb piece of film history. It is in fantastic condition (as our photos show) and will look amazing framed and on a movie lover's wall.
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This theatrical still is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
