"Love lift us up where we belong..."

A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from 1982 for Taylor Hackford's "An Officer And A Gentleman", based on a story by Douglas Day Stewart and starring Richard Gere, Debra Winger, David Keith and Louis Gossett Junior (who won Best Supporting Actor, the first African American to do so).

This beautiful film manages to walk the tight-rope of 'romantic modern fairy tale' without straying in to the 'cheesiness' of so many of its contemporaries. With Gere and Winger, the film portrays two beautiful, but broken, people who need to save each other. Many a tear has been shed to the ending scene.

Almost unbelievably, the title song Up Where We Belong, sung by Jennifer Warnes and Joe Cocker, was almost cut from the film. The producer Don Simpson stated "The song is no good. It isn't a hit." The song would win a Grammy, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and an Oscar and would spend seven weeks at number 1 in the U.K.!

This poster was issued folded, but, as our photos show, displays incredibly well and will look superb framed and on display.

We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.

Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
