A really super find - a guaranteed original unfolded one sheet movie poster for Ridley Scott's sensational 1979 sci-fi horror "ALIEN", based on a story by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett.

Starring Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Veronica Cartwright, Ian Holm and of course, John Hurt (who can forget the alien chest burst scene?) Alien would win the Best Visual Effects Oscar and change sci-fi horror movies forever. 

Such a wonderful poster, with a design by Steve Frankfurt and Philip Gips that gave nothing away before the horror hit the screen! The vast majority of 1970's movie posters were folded. Until we found this poster, we had never come across an unfolded one sheet for this movie!

Prior to linen-backing, it had only a few minor signs of handling and the paper conservator had a very simple job to touch those in. This is incredible for its age! I doubt we will find another. A superb classic sci-fi collectors' piece!

By the way, the design of the aliens and much else is by artist H.R. Giger. That is the man you have to blame for the nightmares!
