A guaranteed original and framed '8 x 10' English lobby card for one of the most influential films ever made, Stanley Kubrick's legendary "2001: A Space Odyssey".

Based on the short story The Sentinel by Arthur C. Clarke, the screenplay was written jointly by Kubrick and Clarke. Although financed by MGM from the U.S., the film was largely made in the U.K. It's ground-breaking visual effects earned Kubrick an Oscar. One of four of the film's nominations. 

This superb lobby card shows astronauts David Bowman and Dr Frank Poole sat in one of the Discovery’s EVA pods. Could their infallible on-board computer HAL be malfunctioning? If so, should they disconnect him? Let’s hope the read eyed AI in the background cannot lip read…

Lobby cards were used in the foyer of cinemas and movie theatres (in this case a U.K. cinema) at the time of a film’s release. This wonderful example is in lovely condition. It does show signs of exposure to sunlight (perhaps it was displayed in an external cinema display case), but this does not detract from the overall look of the piece, now nearly sixty years old.

It has been framed by us in a black ayous wood frame with an iced white mount, protective barrier board and crystal clear acrylic glazing. As our photos show, it will look amazing on display!
