A guaranteed original U.S. 'half sheet' movie poster from Maury Dexter's independently made 1963 sci-fi thriller "The Day Mars Invaded Earth", written by Harry Spalding.

Evidently inspired by "The Day the Earth Stood Still", "War of the Worlds" and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", Spalding's story sees Martians hell bent on stopping Earth's space programmes. Who can blame them?

Despite the heavy use of colour in the poster, including retouching of scenes from the film, the movie is actually in black and white! It received under billing on Elvis Presley's Kissin' Cousins. What an unusual pairing!

This super poster screams 1960's sci-fi. It is a rare U.S. 'half-sheet' format and it has never been folded. As our photos show, it is super condition (especially as it is over 50 years old) and will look fantastic framed and on the wall.
