A guaranteed original U.S. one sheet movie poster from the 1980 release of Stanley Kubrick's 1968 epic "2001: A Space Odyssey".

Based on the short story "The Sentinel" by Arthur C. Clarke, the screenplay was written jointly by Kubrick and Clarke. Although financed by MGM from the U.S., the film was largely made in the U.K and the movie's ground-breaking visual effects earned Kubrick an Oscar. One of four of the film's nominations. 

This superb movie poster from the 1980 release carries the iconic artistry of Bob McCall. It was originally issued folded (as were the vast majority of posters at the time) and has remained so. As our hi-res photos show (please do examine them), it displays very well as-is, but a future owner may choose to have it linen-backed and to have some minor restoration to the fold-lines, which would greatly reduce visibility of the folds. A wonderful poster for one of the most iconic films of the 20th century.
