A guaranteed set of two original U.S. commemorative posters from 1988, celebrating Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster on the 50th anniversary of their creation "Superman".
Writer Siegel had first coined a character entitled "Superman" in 1933, but it would be five years before he and his Cleveland high-school friend, the artist Joe Shuster, debuted him as the orphaned alien from Krypton in Action Comics #1, published on 18th April 1938.
Fifty years later, these incredible posters were created to celebrate the Man of Steel's fiftieth birthday and to honour his two co-creators. Each poster is double-sided. One side shows Clark Kent entering a phone box, the other, Superman flying out of it. In honour of his 'birthplace', the phone box is set in Cleveland, Ohio (outside the iconic 'May Company' building), rather than the fictional Metropolis. The artworks are by Garcia Lopez and Giordano.
We are offering a set of two posters so that they can be displayed as a side-by-side presentation of Clark Kent's transformation. As our photos show, they are in fantastic condition and will look incredible framed and on display.
Note that these posters are not associated with a specific movie, but with the creation of the super-hero character himself.
