A poster that does not come up often!

A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster for Jeannot Szwarc's shark horror sequel "Jaws 2", starring Roy Scheider, Lorraine Gary, Murray Hamilton, Joseph Mascolo, Jeffrey Kramer, Collin Wilcox Paxton and Cindy Grover.

Apparently Spielberg was so scarred by his experiences with the mechanical shark of the original Jaws, that he refused to direct the sequel!

Production of Jaws 2 was just as troubled. The original director was fired and Roy Scheider only agreed to reprise the role of Chief Brody to meet a contractual commitment with Universal Pictures.

The resultant film still took over $200M at the global box office against a production budget of $20M. Not a bad return!

This fantastic movie poster has artwork by Lou Feck. It was originally issued folded and prior to linen-backing had paper loss at the fold intersections. The restorer could have done a better job of colour matching some of his restoration, but as our photos show, it will still look super framed and on display.

By the way, you may not have thought about it before, but it is Jaws 2 that has the tagline "Just when you thought it was safe to go back in to the water...", a phrase that has just about entered common parlance for any problematic situation!
