A guaranteed original French 'Petite' movie poster from a 1978 to 1982 release of Stanley Kubrick's 1968 epic "2001: A Space Odyssey".

Based on the short story The Sentinel by Arthur C. Clarke, the screenplay was written jointly by Kubrick and Clarke. Although financed by MGM from the U.S., the film was largely made in the U.K and the movie's ground-breaking visual effects earned Kubrick an Oscar. One of four of the film's nominations. 

From the way that the printer's name and address is written, we know that this superb poster is for a release of the movie between 1978 and 1982. (The visa number was retained from the original 1968 release.)

The iconic artistry is by Bob McCall and this poster provides a fantastic smaller version of it! It was originally issued folded but has been linen-backed at some point and as our photos shows, displays incredibly well! We love it!
