A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from 1974 for Joseph Sargent's classic subway hostage thriller "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three", starring Walter Matthau, Robert Shaw, Martin Balsam, Hector Elizondo, Earl Hindman, Jerry Stiller and Dick O'Neill.

Based on the 1973 novel by Morton Freedgood (writing as John Godey), The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 follows a group of criminals as they hijack a New York subway train, taking eighteen passengers hostage.  Their demand? One million pounds within an hour, or they start shooting.

Critically acclaimed on release, it holds a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 98% over fifty years later.

This is one hell of a movie poster! The amazing artwork is by Mort Kunstler. As was common practice at the time, it was originally issued folded, but has now been linen-backed and as our photos show, displays incredibly well with really vivid colours. We love it!

By the way, for years after the film was released, the NY City Transit Authority did not schedule any train to leave Pelham Bay Park station at 1:23!
