A guaranteed original U.S. one sheet movie poster from 1984 for Robert Zemeckis' romantic comedy adventure "Romancing the Stone", starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, Danny DeVito, Alfonso Arau and Manuel Ojeda.

When a New York author receives a map from her recently deceased brother-in-law and finds her apartment ransacked, travelling to Colombia to save her sister seems the only way forward. Saved from a bus crash by an American exotic bird smuggler, can they cross Columbia, find the treasure and also rescue her sister?

Apparently, when 20th Century Fox executives saw a rough cut of the film, they were so sure it would be a flop that they fired Robert Zemeckis. It turned out to be the studio's only hit of 1984!

The artwork of this incredible movie poster is often credited to John Solie, but it does not look like his work to us and we can find no reference to him claiming credit for it. If you do know who painted it, do let us know!

This wonderful example was issued folded (as was common place at the time) but has now been linen-backed and as our photos show, displays superbly! We love it!
