Almost unbelievably, the Nacho Libre story has its roots in both fiction and real-life. In the late 1960's, Mexican youth Sergio Gutiérrez Benítez was a drug addict with an alcohol problem. Finding God, he was inducted as a Piarist Friar, teaching philosophy to Roman Catholics in Italy, Spain and Mexico. As a child he had watched two films about a priest who supported an orphanage by fighting as a wrestler. So, when Sergio founded his own orphanage for 270 Mexican children, he became Fray Tormenta / 'Friar Storm', wrestling by night in a gold and red mask!

Jack Black stars as Nacho, a monastery cook with a big wrestling dream. Can he win a fight and perhaps one day become a professional wrestler?
