As huge Jazz fans, we are so thrilled to have found another of these!
A guaranteed original German 'A1' poster from 1997 for Julian Benedikt's made-for-TV Jazz documentary "Blue Note - A Story of Modern Jazz".
The Blue Note record label was set up in 1939 by Alfred Lion, with Francis Wolff joining shortly after. The motto of the two German Jewish immigrants to the U.S? "It must schwing!"
This wonderful documentary about the legendary Jazz label includes original footage from concert recordings from artists that Lion and Wolff signed to the label and interviews with Carlos Santana, Rudy Van Gelder, Horace Silver and Herbie Hancock, among others.
It would be nominated for the 1997 Best Long Form Music Video Grammy.
Wolff was one of the most acclaimed Jazz photographers of the era and in this wonderful poster, his snap captures tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley with Alfred Lion, both studying a sheet of music. As our photos show, is in wonderful condition and will look incredible framed and on the wall of any Jazz fan!
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
