A guaranteed original and framed '8x10' movie still from 1962 for Stanley Kubrick's "Lolita", based on the novel by Vladimir Nabokov.
Both Lolita the novel and Lolita the film were the source of much controversy on their release. The novel is now lauded as a masterpiece of twentieth century fiction. Similarly, the film is now recognised as a black comedy cinematic master-piece.
Starring James Mason, Shelley Winters, Sue Lyon and Peter Sellers, Lolita was principally filmed in the U.K., in and around Elstree Studios (rather than the U.S., where the story is based). It would win an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and a Golden Globe for Sue Lyon's breakthrough performance.
These wonderful movie still sees Humbert Humbert (Mason) watching hula-hooping Lolita. It would have been snapped by a Unit Still Photographer (perhaps Joe Pearce) during production and then used for publicity during the film's release.
It is in wonderful condition and the reverse shows that it was received by the Cleveland Press Reference Department on the 8th August 1962, a couple of months after the film's initial U.S. release. (We will include a photo of the reverse for the future owner's records.)
It has been framed by us in a black ayous wood frame with an iced white mount, protective barrier board and crystal clear acrylic glazing. As our photos show, it will look amazing on display!
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This movie still is priced framed. Photos showing 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
