Why choose a linen-backed movie poster?

Linen backing is a traditional conservation process used to stabilise and present original film posters. The poster is carefully mounted to a linen support, often with a layer of archival paper between the poster and fabric.

For many older posters, particularly those originally issued folded, linen backing can make a significant difference to how the poster handles, frames and displays. It can reduce the visual impact of fold lines, support fragile paper and help preserve the poster for the future.
