Filmed in the Minneapolis and Dakota winter of 1995 and premiered at the 1996 Cannes Film Festival, this must-see film would go on to receive seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. It would win two. the Best Actress Oscar for McDormand and Best Original Screenplay for the Coen Brothers.
