A guaranteed original '8x10' movie still from 1965 for Robert Wise's incredible family musical "The Sound of Music", starring Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Richard Haydn, Peggy Wood, Charmian Carr, Heather Menzies, Angela Cartwright, and Eleanor Parker.

Based upon the hit Broadway play by Rodgers and Hammerstein (which was itself based upon real-life Maria von Trapp's 1949 memoir, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers), this wonderful movie was nominated for an incredible ten Academy Awards, winning five, including the coveted Best Picture and Best Director awards!

The soundtrack album is one of the most successful of all time, with over 20 million copies sold to date!

This wonderful movie still, with perhaps the most iconic image of the film, was used for publicity during the movie's release.

A stamp on the reverse shows that it was once part of the collection of Wim, Roos and Fred Peeters in the Netherlands. We have not been able to uncover any information on them, but evidently that were ardent collectors.

It is in lovely condition and has been framed by us in a black ayous wood frame with an iced white mount, protective barrier board and crystal clear Perspex glazing. As our photos show, it will look amazing on display!

By the way, apparently Julie Andrews was the only real contender for the role of Maria. So, not such a problem after all!
