A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from 1952 for John Brahm's romantic crime thriller "The Thief of Venice", starring Maria Montez, Paul Hubschmid, Faye Marlowe, Massimo Serato and Aldo Silvani.

Originally released in Italy in 1950 as Il Ladro di Venezia, The Thief of Venice is set in 1575 where The Grand Inquisitor is trying to seize control of Venice. Can the city's admiral and his officer Lorenzo foil the plot?

The 12th November 1952 edition of Variety says that the film has "... the accent on action and suspense" and that "... the [Jessie] Lasky script deftly weaves in a plethora of swordplay, medieval torture scenes and hand-to hand combat." Sounds like fun!

We have not seen the film, but fell in love with the poster! It was originally issued folded and shows signs of use, but has been linen backed with some sympathetic restoration. As our photos show, it will look fantastic framed and on display in a stylish home. We love it!
