An original German 'A1' movie poster from the 2021 Babylon movie theater release of Fritz Lang's seminal anti-fascist silent sci-fi movie "Metropolis", written by novelist and screenwriter Thea von Harbou and first released in 1927.

Ground-breaking at the time, Lang's thirteenth movie is still influencing movie-makers in the 20th and 21st centuries. C-3PO's design owes quite a bit to Lang's 'Maschinenmensch' ('machine person').

The movie poster for the original 1927 release was by German illustrator and graphic designer Heinz Shulz-Neudamm. Only a few examples are known to still exist. Two currently sit at number 3 and number 1 in the list of most expensive movie posters. The most expensive sold for $690,000 in 2005. It is rumoured that Leonardo DiCaprio was the buyer.

This fantastic poster was produced for a 2021 release of the movie at the Babylon movie theatre in Berlin. (The Babylon is the first modern-day cinema to have its own live orchestra, with the 35 piece ensemble playing along to silent movies from the early days of film.)

It is in super condition and as our photos show, will look amazing framed and on the wall of any sci-fi fan or movie buff.

We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.

Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
