For most of us, our school years weren’t as eventful as High School Musical. There were no spontaneous songs with back-flips in the canteen, nor mass synchronised dancing in the playground as a camera panned slowly over us.
However cool your school was, I have a feeling it wasn’t as cool as the DAVE school (and no, it has nothing to do with the UK's comedy repeat TV channel).
Founded in 2008 by visual effects producers Anne and Jeffrey Scheetz, the Digital Animation and Visual Effects (DAVE) School offers specialised training in Visual Effects for Film and Game Production.
Located on the back-lot of Universal Studios Florida, it makes my Midlands based education look a little mundane! 😊
The Star Wars Concept Trailer
A few weeks ago we published a post on the influence conceptual artist Ralph McQuarrie had on the Star Wars Universe.
In 2017, DAVE students decided to make a complete trailer for Star Wars based purely on McQuarrie’s concept artwork.
It is well worth a watch!
You can see more of the student's work at the school's YouTube Channel.
Enjoy!
