(Late) Breaking News - The Dark Crystal to return on Netflix...
How did we miss this?
In 1982, Jim Henson and Frank Oz's released the amazing fantasy adventure "The Dark Crystal".
Set of the planet Thra, the story follows the quest of 'Jen' to heal a magical crystal before the three suns align and evil gains power forever. Building on Henson and Oz's Muppet experience, it utilised ground-breaking puppetry to create a magical world filled with fantastical creatures.
It's a film that has stayed with many of us who were young and full of wonder in the 1980s.
Which is why it is so strange that we missed this...
In May 2017, Netflix and The Jim Henson Company announced that they were working on a Dark Crystal prequel series, "The Dark Crystal : Age of Resistance"!
Set for release this year (2019), the ten episode series boasts a stellar cast, including Mark Hamill, Helena Bonham-Carter, Eddie Izzard, Simon Pegg and Toby Jones.
The original film was made down the road from us at Elstree Studios. We hear that the series is also being produced in the U.K.
