Jackson had begun work on The Lord of the Rings in the 1990's. Originally envisaging two films, he would eventually shoot three critically acclaimed blockbusters, of which The Two Towers is the second.

Nominated for six Oscars (including Best Picture), this astonishing piece of film-making would win two Academy Awards and take just shy of $1B at the box office.
