The first time we have tracked down this poster!

A guaranteed original promotional poster from 1987 for the Disneyland attraction "Star Tours", based on George Lucas' Star Wars.

Disney originally planned a motion simulator ride based on their 1979 film The Black Hole. Given the popularity of Lucas' creation, that idea was shelved and a ride designed on the first non-Disney franchise - Star Wars.

The final experience would utliise four military-grade flight simulators and cost over $32M to produce. Opening in January 1987, the park remained open for a 60 hour marathon to meet demand for a trip to Endor!

This wonderful poster was produced in 1987 to promote the introduction of the new ride. The incredible artwork, showing a Star Speeder dodging explosions over the Disneyland castle, has artwork by Richard Kriegler. 

As our photos show, this incredible poster is in fantastic condition and will look superb framed and on the wall of any Star Wars fan!

By the way, we believe that Richard Kriegler was the art director for Star Trek: Insurrection and also for a number of the Call of Duty games .Apparently his name can be found on some of the maps if you look hard enough!
