An original Swedish movie poster from a 2010 release of Fritz Lang's seminal anti-fascist silent sci-fi movie "Metropolis", written by novelist and screenwriter Thea von Harbou and first released in 1927.
Ground-breaking at the time, Lang's thirteenth movie is still influencing movie-makers in the 20th and 21st centuries. C-3PO's design owes quite a bit to Lang's 'Maschinenmensch' ('machine person').
The movie poster for the original 1927 release was by German illustrator and graphic designer Heinz Shulz-Neudamm. Only a few examples are known to still exist. Two currently sit at number 3 and number 1 in the list of most expensive movie posters. The most expensive sold for $690,000 in 2005. It is rumoured that Leonardo DiCaprio was the buyer.
This fantastic movie poster was produced for a Swedish release of the film in 2010. As our photos show, it is in lovely condition and will look amazing on display in any stylish home!
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
