With the two lead actors in their film debuts, this wonderful movie garnered almost universal acclaim, including four Oscar nominations - Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Cooper).

By the way, what is a licorice / liquorice pizza? A vinyl record of course! Anderson named the film after a 1970's chain of Southern Californian record stores.
